An Attorney for the Employee

Thank you for visiting my page and considering my services. Iā€™d prefer to discuss your story, but here is mine.

I was born and raised in the Central Valley with my working class family. My parents got up at the crack of dawn to brew their coffee and prepare themselves for work and me for school. They made it look easy while I ate my Captain Crunch. I did not fully appreciate their hard work until I got my first job, which occurred during the Great Recession. It involved power washing mud and grease off of tractors in the valley heat while wearing a wetsuit. It was not quite what I imagined as my first job, but I was grateful to have a job when others were not as lucky.

In college and law school, I not only learned the law, but I also understood it thanks to my great professors and mentors. My grades reflected my understanding: Magna Cum Laude at San Jose State University and With Honors at McGeorge School of Law. I also participated in Law Review and Mock Trial in law school with leading legal figures.

Prior to starting Marques Legal, I worked at large firms and represented a wide range of clients in litigation and administrative matters, including nurses, doctors, hospitals, law enforcement officers, firefighters, first responder unions, school districts, small businesses, and national companies.

At my previous firm, which is a national employment defense law firm with 1,000 attorneys, I defended companies from lawsuits by employees. I learned how companies (and their insurance carriers) assessed liability and damages, which I now use to provide a crucial advantage to my clients.

In defending those lawsuits, I noticed the bad practices of the settlement mill law firms that represented the employees. These mill law firms are typically staffed by brand new attorneys with little to no experience and oversight. They significantly undervalue the worth of a case because they do not want to put in the hard work it takes to enforce your rights. Their goal is to get as many cases as possible and settle as quickly as possible, which has permanent and negative consequences for the employee. Please think twice before choosing such a firm.

I, on the other hand, will provide you with high-quality work and will fight to get you what you deserve. I am not afraid to advocate on your behalf in front of a judge or a jury of your peers. I have secured multiple judgments for my clients because I tell their stories thoughtfully and logically. Let me tell yours.
